Bilbo the day of his rescue and some days after with his companion


Bilbo is two months old. He is a young Assamese Macaque. He was welcomed at the centre after his rescue on a stand on the road side where the villagers wanting to sell him. Attached along with Golum (following picture), since then he cannot separate himself from this last. He was bitten by a snake at the stomach level that provokes an abscess, two days ago, when we rescued him. Step by step he recovers some forces and is now full of life waiting for his return in the jungle.   



Golum


Golum is now seven months old. He is an Eat-Crab Macaque. His story is linked to the one of Bilbo. The day of their rescue he was far more in a critical state of health than his companion, we were very afraid about his survival. Happily he found out the taste of life. Older than Bilbo, he takes care of him even if he is more independent. His eyes are often turned towards the trees at the exterior of the centre.

Bilbo and Golum are unhappily not from the same species, so it will not be possible to release them together. So we will constitute a group from each species (Assamese and Eat-Crab) and present them to their respective kinds in view of the releasing.

Espoir before his rescue

Espoir is a male Hoolock Gibbon of  7 years old. He was kept chained up to a wood stockage waiting for his selling.

Emeraude the day of her rescue


Emeraude is a very young female Hoolock Gibbon of three months. Her parents have certainly been killed during her capture. She has her two legs paralysed but the xray reveals any fracture. She takes more and more might day by day that can let us hope of a better future for her. She needs a permanent presence beside her.

Saphir

Saphir is a young female Asamese Maccaque, 4 months old. Detained by people in their house, the equip of the Program has seized her, expoxing to the owners the illegality of detaining a wild animal and the dangers that includes. Step by step the local people becomes aware regarding the importance of a wild animal inside its habitat, this thanks to sensitization and information. When she will finished the last tests and her antibiotic treatment she will join to Bilbo and Golum. This will be a first meeting, after the capture, for the young Bilbo, of a fellow of his species.

Diane

Diane, a young Stump-tailed Maccaque of 6 months old. She was kept by some villagers near the Bangladesh border, south Garo Hills. Her health is good but her attachment for the humans is problematic. She met Larry at the center, a young male of the same species. They are at present together in quarantine in the Care center of the Program, in Tura (Lucette Pardoux Wildlife Care Center).

Larry

Larry, a young Stump-tailed Maccaque of 7 months old, rescued on the same day as Diane in the south Garo Hills, Bangladesh border and he was kept in the same conditions as her.

Robinson

Robinson, a young male Hoolock Gibbon of 1 year old. His life is not in danger but he presents a malnutrition due to his alimentation with rice. His rescue has been the more difficult since the beginning of the operations of rescue. He was kept in a village located on the border of Balpakram National Park at 15 km walking from the way where the equip had to stop the vehicle. This action has been realized in collaboration with the local NGO Samakshan, and the Department of Forests from south Garo Hills (from which depends Balpakram area) which provided to our staff two rangers armed.

Remi during and after his rescue

Remi is a Male Hoolock Gibbon of 7 months old. Rescued in a very bad health state because of mistreatments from the owners. He needs someone to take care of him day and night.

Kalsin

Kalsin is a male Western Hoolock Gibbon of 4 years old. He was found in a courtesy in a village where he was chained up with a short chain. He spent three years in captivity, the keepers of Huro provide him close contact and much attention because he is very impregnated.

If you want to adopt one of them please send your demand by post to Mlle LENOIR, 28 rue Fays 94300 Vincennes FRANCE), along with the payment (at the order to SVAA) that is 100 Euros (133 USD, 90 £) for one year per animal, indicating on a blank paper:
